    This Week's Top Races

We're headed to Pennsylvania this Saturday as Parx Racetrack hosts the 45th running of the $1,000,000 Cotillion Stakes (G1) and the 35th running of the $1,000,000 Pennsylvania Derby (G1).

Raced as a prelude to the Breeders' Cup Championships, the Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes is open to 3-year-old fillies willing to race 1 1/16 miles on the dirt for the winner's share of the event's $1M purse. From Pletcher's Stopchargingmaria, who is undefeated in her last three starts; to Gyamarti's Sweet Reason, who's finished in the money in all races she's run this year including wins in the Test Stakes and Acorn Stakes, this Saturday's lineup is looking impressive. Let's not forget about Asmussen's Untapable, who despite struggling in the Haskell Invitational, has won every other race she's run this year including the Kentucky Oaks and the Mother Goose Stakes.

The $1,000,000 Pennsylvania Derby is a grade 1 event open to 3-year-old thoroughbreds willing to race 1 1/8 miles on the dirt. The field is practically set and it's safe to say we're in for a show. All eyes will be on Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome, who will be making his first appearance since finishing in a dead heat for fourth in the Belmont Stakes in June.
